“Can you do me a logo for it?”. “…And I need it by the day after tomorrow.”
That night we ran out pencils down to the nib. By the mornring we had drawn a blank. Literally. But the idea came to us later…in the shower: “If it’s about getting people to use unused spaces, why not grow vegetables in the unused spaces in the logo?”.
Suddenly we were excited. The plan came together and Tim had his identity on time. Within a few days we had a call from Sustain who had seen Landfit and were impressed with what we had done, but that’s another story.
When engage the services of designers who really believe in what YOU do, they wont stop thinking about your job at 5.30. You don’t buy their time. You buy their passion and expertise.

Great stuff! Lee did this for me when he designed my blog header – he kept thinking, kept questioning, and came up with PACKED, the name and the header design, which totally encapsulated what the blog is about. See it at http://www.assetresearch.co.uk/blog/ and thanks again, Lee.

Hi Tessa,
many thanks for those kind words. We will soon have a blog entry for the design of the PACKED. We enjoyed working on it. Which is the whole point of what we do. You do better work when you believe in the client, when you believe in what you are doing.

Hi Darlene,
The guy who was behind it put the project on hold, which was a shame. There are now other schemes from Sustain such as Capital Growth (which we also designed the logo for (although we sent them a rough and they used it which is what you see all over London!) and ‘Food Up Front (which we did an identity for including all the guidelines and artwork, but they DIDN’T use it, deciding that a clip art picture of a tomato was better for some strange reason!.)

Great sample of logo cleverly using negative space | anoniemous
[...] Landfit matches people who have gardens who don’t use with people who don’t have gardens who want to use it to grow flowers, herbs and vegetables. The logo is perfect! They use the “unused space” of letterforms and grown vegetables, herbs and flowers [...]

Nice work. Visual ID reminds me a great deal of the old Planet Earth skate stuff. Particularly the medium brown shirts with white text / subtle vector forms. Good stuff, indeed.

This is very nice… but I’d like to know more about the company who’s using the logo. Are they online?

Hi Duncan,
the project is on hold at the moment. Sustain have similar schemes. Go to http://www.sustain.org
Please tell them about us and this blog if you contact them!
